Child safety

Around 2,000 children are admitted to hospital every week after accidental injuries. Although parents generally worry most about road accidents, most of these injuries happen in the home.

Falls down stairs, scalds from hot drinks, burns from gadgets like hair straighteners and poisoning from cleaning products or medicines are all potentially serious accidents which can happen in the home.

You can reduce these risks and protect your child by making some small changes at home. A good way to start is to try to look at your home from a child's point of view - you should be able to spot the possible danger points and make your home safer.
